Afghan Diary
11.07.2013
Very pleasant holiday…
Great morning. Waking up slowly. Family
is around. Everything is great. You can see everybody’s smiles. Great evening
too. The beginning of Ramadan, the holy month of Muslims. Meanwhile in Park
Palace, we are quite relaxed. My mind is completely calm and neutral. I think of
our existence. Currently, we are away from threats I believe. It helps to stabilize
my brain.
This is Afghanistan. There are many
interesting stories flying around me. So many great stories. Sometimes, I forgot
to write them down. Today, I hear a new great story. Amazing story again.
Good music. I don’t know who the
singer is. It does not matter. Just a great music.
The sky is fairly blue. Stars are
floating to and fro…
In the modest garden, good Mexican
food prepared by an Irish friend for the farewell party of a young Russian man.
We lit the two big candles. Everything is just as normal as everywhere in the
world. The only strange thing is military helicopters’ noises from the sky. Don’t
pay attention to this.
Weather is just great. Cool enough
to keep our hearts alive and to be grateful of lives.
Gurkhas soldiers walking around inside
the compound with their guns, but I hardly hear the noises from their shoes.
We listen to the stories of the people
in the party. Not many people would come to Afghanistan. After all, people who
come to Afghanistan are not ordinary people. They have special characters I guess.
Each of them has the great story to tell. You just have to be a good listener
in here.
After all, the night is not spectacular,
but great. Nice weather, good food, great music and good stories flying around…
